Fire at home in Jointon Road, Folkestone after logs catch alight in lounge

A person was treated by paramedics after a blaze broke out in their lounge.

Firefighters were called to the semi-detached home in Jointon Road, Folkestone, at 6.15pm after logs caught alight.

The cause is believed to be accidental, due to them being stored too close to a log burner.

It took two crews around 45 minutes to put out the flames and clear the smoke.

One person was passed into the care of paramedics.

Following the incident, the fire service reminded people to always store log baskets, wood, paper and other flammable items away from the chimney.
